C'est...living room view morning sitting spot

This watercolor has been completed of the view that holds my attention every morning that I sit here, as well as other times of day when I want to get quiet and ruminate. Writings often bubble up after sitting here.

The quietude pervades-
Nearly quiet-
Quietness
Flame flickering quiet.
Incense rising quiet
Slow, deep breath quiet
Blood flowing smoothly quiet
Few thoughts quiet
Sitting still quiet
Gentle morning birds quiet
Soft heart quiet-
Very important
Good love quiet
Yes, also very important
Bamboo branches quiet
Safe and alone quiet
Middle of the night quiet
Good night’s sleep quiet
In the now quiet
IS-
Flowers pushing up in the garden quiet
Growing wiser quiet
Early morning sun slowly streaming in quiet-
Old oriental rug quiet
Still gaze quiet
Solid ground, deep earth quiet
Gentle, tender soul quiet
Heart-centered quiet
Quiet

C'est...Old Water Works

In 1892 Savannah had the good fortune to open a modern pump house for the municipal water system. This was a forward thinking move that used the most current technology at that time. I have now begun a series of paintings of this complex, the Old Water Works Pump House in Savannah GA, which is located in the western part of the city of Savannah on West Gwinnett Street. Here you find my watercolor of the central tower. It is a beautiful Richardsonian Romanesque structure. More to follow.
