Ode to Los Robles' inspiration

This painting was inspired by this lily's blooms as it stood so poetically in the dining room of my friends at Los Robles in Savannah. They have a gift for gathering kindred spirits as well as creating surroundings that have offered numerous inspirations for my watercolors. Thank you, dear friends.

My current show in Savannah-details

I am currently having a one woman show (image below) at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Savannah which is located on the corner of 34th and Abercorn. During the week, the gallery is open during the church office hours which are Monday through Thursday from 9:00am until 3:00pm. Of course, it is open almost all day from 8am until 8pm on Sundays. Elephant Walk

Walking with the elephant 

Sure - solid - steady steps - 

Going straight forward - with purpose - 

Remembering that which is important: 

Surety - knowledge - forward in the present - 

Working hard - helping others with strength 

When finished - going to the water 

for a cleansing, refreshing bath 

Socializing and speaking LOUD - 

The elephant dance will follow! 

"Singing elephant sister – 

Come out into the light and greenery - 

Bellow forth your lovely chants!" 

Delicacy and strength are united

in a feminine, enchanted voice 

Low, booming, reverberations spread into the air 

Holy sounds 

sing forth!

December art show

After a several month vacation from posting, I return to share an invitation. Some of my works will include watercolors that I painted this summer in New Hampshire. I will also have calenders and note cards for sale.

Rose Petal Ice Cream

In Savannah, we have a wonderful ice cream parlor right downtown-Leopold's. They have many great flavors but last year, I first tasted their rose petal ice cream and I fell in love. It is featured the month of February for Valentine's Day and the month of May for Mother's Day. I normally do not include an advertisement, but, please, rush in to Leopold's since it will only be around a few more days. I was inspired to write this little poem because of this divine flavor.

Palest pink,

soft in color

and smooth on the tongue.

Gentle taste that reaches far back

into the palate and the past.

Deep delicate Mother Goddess memories

are tapped into with each spoonful.

Slowly savoring the cool love potion-

evoking a sensual union-

From the past or the future?

Pink Roses II

Wishing that I could capture these undulating
rolls of pink petals - old-fashioned roses-
rounded, curving under -Belle Epoque femininity-
Perfect pale pinkness-
The softness and delicatesse -so ladylike and refined-
with the sensual passion rumbling deeply
under the deceptive exterior.

Come surround me and I will surround you-
the tender siren calls and begs for you to bite into a petal.
Begin to consume this essence that you desire.
