C'est...Savannah Porch- Baldwin House
This porch, with its Romanesque Revival arches and terra cotta details, is a microcosm of a great Savannah house. The Queen Anne house was built in 1887 for George Baldwin, a pioneer in the urban philanthropic sense. He brought street cars and electric lighting to the city and the neighborhood, Baldwin Park, with its round park on Atlantic Avenue, is named after him. The esplanade of palm trees along Atlantic carry you down to the Savannah Arts Academy... and almost to the Riviera... My watercolor shows a taste of the warm pinks, rusts, reds that make up the exterior. For further curiosity you may find the house on the corner of Hall and Lincoln Streets.

First Sunday tulips
These tulips were a present last November and they warranted both a painting and a poem. I am sharing the watercolor only but let's say that this was part of the beginning of love. These are in my new calendar which is available both as a wall calendar and a desk calendar. Contact me if you'd like one.

Rose of Sharon
One of my favorite summer flowers is the Rose of Sharon, otherwise known as Althea. Soft, tender crepe paper petals, this time depicted in a little Italian vase with its own pink flower bulging forward.

Empress Paulownia
This pale purple blossom hangs like wisteria or foxglove from this tree during the month of March. It is a small tree but the large fronds have almost crepe paper clusters of blooms.
